Situated on the edge of the Ashdown Forest, The village of Hartfield has run a local society for enthusiastic gardeners since 1861. Today, the Hartfield and District Horticultural Society continues to promote an interest in horticulture and aims to encourage more people to grow for pleasure, for the table and for the show bench.
The principal event is the Annual Show on the first Saturday in September, combined with the Village Fete, including classes for vegetables, flowers, flower arranging, cookery, art and craft and childrens’ classes.
Members of the Society enjoy discounts at a number of local nurseries and other establishments.
Details of how to join the Society are on the Membership page. Alternatively get in touch and join us at our Show.
The Society is affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society.
